New Claimed North American Distance Record for the 3456MHz Amateur Radio Allocation

According to the keeper of records, W5LUA, during the tropo opening early on Monday morning the 3456MHz North American distance record was increased by 1km when W5LUA EM13QC worked WA8TTM EL98DP.

Five minutes later, at 0511 UTC 02-Feb-2003, WW2R EM13QD worked WA8TTM to increase the record another km to 1509km. All QSOS were on SSB

I worked WA8TTM on all bands 144 to 3456MHz. 10GHz tests were unsuccesful at that time.
